Salmon Farm Café Campsite, Paringa
Today there's a special breakfast, because we're having an English Breakfast: Baked Beans, Scrambled Eggs and fried Toast. Strengthened, we go up to the Fox Glacier in a helicopter.
We're curious about what awaits us as we are waved into the helicopter with the rotors already running. Even the takeoff is fascinating, as it's a completely different feeling than taking off in a normal plane. After a while, we land on the glacier. We're surprised to find dust from the Australian bushfires has settled on the snow, as the pilot explains. After a short while in the snow, we take off again and fly back to the landing site through the impressive mountain landscape. Helicopter flying was definitely a breathtaking experience that all three of us could experience together for the first time. To strengthen ourselves, we have another portion of wedges in the same café as yesterday, where we take care of the sales ad for Zuhlo at the same time. It's a weird feeling for all of us to have to sell our own home on four wheels. In a timely manner, we make our way over the Haast Pass to Wanaka.
