Hello,
Today started a bit early with an alarm at 7:30, but it was followed by a beautiful and relaxing train ride from Newcastle to Edinburgh, this time without any delays and with a wonderful view of the Highlands, sheep, and small coastal towns.
In Edinburgh, we were lucky enough to be able to immediately drop off our backpacks at our accommodation and start exploring from there. Armed with a hotdog from the supermarket, we embarked on our tour of the Old Town, which enchanted both of us with its countless small shops and many old stone buildings. The good mood was complete when we visited the Harry Potter fan shop and indulged in Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. We enjoyed the view of the entire city from Carlton Hill, and also saw Hollywood Park and Arthur's Seat. We even managed to take a quick look at the castle before returning to our accommodation in the evening, tired, hungry, and satisfied.
All in all, Edinburgh is a highlight for both of us and definitely deserves a longer visit.
But tomorrow we will already continue to Perth, so we have to focus on planning now. Therefore...
See you tomorrow,
Veronika and Christine
