We are staying in Horta for a few days. Probably familiar to all sailors.

We landlubbers were amazed at the open air gallery on the quay.

Anyone sailing across the Atlantic stops off in Horta. And it is said to bring good luck to immortalize yourself with a picture here in the harbor. Thousands!! Crews have wielded their brushes here and left behind great paintings - an open air art exhibition. Of course we also looked for the North Germans...with success!

And because so many sailors stop here, there is of course also a sailor's bar. THE SEAMAN'S PUB: PETER CAFÉ SPORT an institution!

We had a delicious dinner and a traditional gin and tonic.
