Our last trip in Costa Rica was to the Pacific coast, specifically to Playa del Coco and Playa Hermosa, which are both highly praised. On the way there and in the Liberia region, the amount of trash accumulated until we passed by a huge landfill. Costa Rica has only 2 waste incineration plants and otherwise the trash is probably just collected. The surroundings looked terrible, similar to Argentina, but here people are already used to being so careless and throwing everything away, which shocked us in Costa Rica. But as you can see, not everything is perfect here either.
By the way, we didn't find the beaches particularly spectacular and everywhere you had to pay for parking. We preferred the calmness on the Caribbean side and the beaches were beautiful there. So, we didn't stay long on the Pacific side, maybe it would have been different down in Chaco or the Nicoya Island, but those are more the places where the villas are located and wealthier people are roaming. Consequently, it will probably be even more expensive there than it already is.
So, we drove back to our ranch and relaxed there for a bit...
