Soooooo, we were in Yala National Park and it was very, very beautiful. The landscape was superb and we were able to discover a variety of animals; truly magnificent!
Our goal was to see a leopard. Theoretically, we did, but it wouldn't be quite right to claim it since it was only a glimpse. So here you can see the leopard in the tree (or not):
We also spotted some elephants in the distance as well as bee-eaters:
And we took a short break at the Indian Ocean (Isn't it dreamy?):
We also spotted crocodiles, monkeys, hares, deer, water buffaloes, peacocks, etc.:
The highlight was a mongoose:
New Year's Eve was fantastic! According to our tour guide, they don't actually celebrate New Year's Eve here, but a party group had booked our hotel. So they arranged loud music, lighting, and fireworks. Unfortunately, the group canceled the reservation and we were the only hotel guests, along with 3 other Germans. What a pity!
But actually, it was good for us because otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to sleep. The music was unbearable and extremely loud! It was very difficult for us to find sleep. Eventually, the music was thankfully turned off.
And then we celebrated New Year's Eve 4.5 hours earlier than you. I've never experienced that before!
