After our first amazing days in Bangkok, we are now heading south... 😊
Through our stay with our lovely host family, we've learned a lot about Thai culture, met a lot of great people, and got to enjoy the local culinary delights. On our last morning in Bangkok, after the traditional Thai breakfast with A Jim and Lung TUI by the roadside (there was specially prepared coffee, tea, pastries, and almost raw eggs with soy sauce and lots of pepper), we had the honor of filling the food bowls for the monks during their morning alms collection and receive a blessing... it was a truly extraordinary moment for us! 🙏🏼
The family even gave us Thai names: Dok Ruk - which is the white flower used for the temple and shrine wreaths, and Ma Li - which means jasmine. This flower is also used in the beautiful flower necklaces.
We then took a bus to Phetchaburi where we made a two-day stop... the place is super beautiful and almost free of foreigners! (Thais call us white people Farangs ;))
We are always amazed at how friendly and relaxed the Thai population is... we feel very comfortable and always welcome here! And the food is simply amazing... 😋
See you soon and stay tuned ;)
