JAPAN β€” a different world πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Tokyo Part 1

Diterbitake: 07.03.2024

Tokyo, Japan β€” It's like we've fallen into a different world. This place is incomparable to anything we've seen before. It's incredibly clean β€” despite the high population density. It's so quiet - despite the hustle and bustle. Everything is well-organized, not the typical chaos you'd expect in Asia.

The people are super friendly, yet reserved, observant, and relaxed. The only challenge is the language. Menus, items in the supermarket β€” all in Japanese. But thank goodness for Google Translate. Just point the camera and translate β€” amazing!!

Now, let's go step by step, although it's hard for me to organize my thoughts. From the airport, we took the subway to the hotel. For the first time, I was proud of us. The subway network is far from easy or uncomplicated. However, we managed to get to the hotel directly.

From the hotel, we went on a sightseeing tour of our neighborhood. Asakusa is home to the Senso-Ji Shrine, several temples, and shopping streets. A wonderful area to immerse ourselves in Japan for the first time. Wow!

Later, we visited Ueno Park for a specific reason. There are pandas in the zoo. Those who know us know that pandas are our spirit animals. The reason being the certain resemblance of Siar to pandas πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ

It was one of our lifelong dreams to see pandas in real life. And it was a very, very, very amazing experience. Of course, zoos are always a controversial topic, and it would be nicer to see pandas in the wild β€” nonetheless, it was wonderful to see these animals in reality, and it will stay with us forever.

By the way, I went to the bathroom in the zoo. The facilities are very diverse πŸ˜‚ while in Germany, it's a relief to find a somewhat clean toilet, here, there are toilets with cleaning seat, heated seat, butt shower, butt dryer πŸ˜‚ all on a public toilet β€” I'm telling you, Japan is just different.

We took a taxi back to the hotel. Taxis are also different here compared to home. The drivers wear suits, sometimes even white gloves. Doors open automatically, and the decorations are also, let's say, special πŸ˜‚ (see photo).

When we arrived at the hotel, we all collapsed into bed completely exhausted. 16.2 kilometers on foot β€” we truly deserved that sleep.

Ps: the weather was really awful: 8 degrees and rain β€” it reminds us of Hamburg βš“οΈβ€οΈ but we are Hamburgers: there's no bad weather, only bad clothing 🀣
