One reason why I wanted to cycle trough Wales was the Snowdonia national park. It was not easy to find acces to the mountains by bike but I found a cycleway up the Ogwen Valley. First I cycled along the coast to Bangor and I visited the old pier, unfortunately in rain. From there it went along the river into the Snowdonia mountains. I passed a huge slate quarry which used to be the biggest in the world. For the night I stayed in a bunkhouse with some other young climbers. The next morning I set off to a hiking trip, unfortunately still in rain. The tour went up to a lake which was formed from the glacier and than it led me straight up to a place called devil's kitchen and further to the ridge of the mountains. Because of the rain, wind, mist and cold there was no point in going up to the top, above all, I couldn't see anything. When I went down it stopped raining and I had great views below the clouds. Despite the bad weather I enjoyed the Snowdonia a lot.
