Tour data: Distance 39.8 kilometers (cumulative 5,042 kilometers), Ø 21.4 km/h, driving time 1:51 hours, max. 42.9 km/h
Weather: Who cares about the weather on the last day. It could have been whatever it is, I would have gone home. But again it was only sunny and pleasantly cool.
When I woke up, I knew that this would be my last leg on this journey. This is a dream come true for me. It was a little over five thousand kilometers in total, each one different from the one before or after. And yet I really enjoyed every single one of them.
I tried to pass on the many impressions and experiences that I was able to absorb on this journey to you through this blog. Many positive reactions show me that I was not alone on the road, but that you also went along in your thoughts.
I would like to say a special thank you to
Brigitte, my dear wife. She motivated me every day and was always a great help. Last but not least, she gave me the freedom for this trip and mastered our common tasks at home and at Landjäger alone.
Dani A. RIP He was my biggest fan, he was the first to react to my reports and status updates every day. He was looking forward to my return and was keen to discuss my bike and my experiences with me. Unfortunately this is no longer possible. 🥲
I would like to thank Inge and Claude, Klaus and Stefani, Barbara and Dieter, Nicole and Jürgen, Ulla, Mario and Mitra, Rosi and Michael that I was able to spend one or more evenings with you and that I was able to approach you as a contact point and as a place to stay. So this trip also became a journey of friendship and shared experiences.
Hanspeter M. was a role model for me through his tour to Venice. He unknowingly gave me the idea of such a bike tour.
My 3 children who had the confidence in me to undertake such a journey at all. All I heard was: 'Dad, you can do it!'

On the way home I really wanted to visit dear friends in Zofingen (Trix and Hansruedi). That's why I started early this morning. In front of me was the Hauenstein towering over 400 meters in altitude, which I had to tackle first. It went up very steeply and, even with motor support, it was a very sporty affair. I don't remember anywhere else on my tour that was so steep over such a long distance. After that it went almost continuously downhill to Olten. I was happy to know that my brakes were still good.
After my short visit to Zofingen, which was right in the middle of today's route, I chose the beautiful route along the Wigger. At home, Brigitte was already waiting for me on the street to take a photo of the finish. But the big surprise were all the painted coats of arms of the countries I visited, which I found in our garage space. But that's not all, Brigitte also decorated the house with a lot of love and her wealth of ideas, which made me very happy. ❤️
❓If you have any questions for me regarding this trip, it's best to write to me at: rm.lang@hotmail.com - I'll be happy to answer them whenever possible.
I would want to do this trip again at any time and can highly recommend that you also make your dreams come true. If possible, never say I can't do that or I'm too old for it. Where there's a will, there's a way.
Thank you for your support and your interest.
All love and good
René
