Nevertheless, the big packing stress began.. at 1 in the morning, we were finally done and I informed our traditional airport taxi (thanks, Dad) that it would be fine to leave at 06:30 instead of 05:30 :D That was said and done, my parents dropped us off at the airport, and we waited for our flight to Calgary.. Very little sleep, time shift, uncomfortable seat on the plane, and again very little sleep - I don't really know how a zombie feels, but I can't imagine it feels much worse.. At 3 PM in Canada and 9 PM Swiss time, we finally landed in Calgary where a driver picked us up personally and for free - Yes, Canada had just been waiting for us.. About 20 minutes later, the driver dropped us off at the hotel.. However, after he couldn't open a single door to unload the luggage after we got out and then quickly jumped into the driver's seat, I quickly became anxious thinking 'so, he's now dealing with the luggage on his own... I then quickly took a picture of the license plate and hoped for the best.. he then awkwardly managed to fit the 20-kilo suitcase into the back seat :D That's why he got a tip..
We thought it was smart to eat something quickly... after 3 hours it was already 8 PM and I thought it would be smart to eat something so that we wouldn't wake up at 3 AM with a rumbling stomach.. Muriel also knew it was smart when I provocatively asked 'either we get up now and eat something and continue sleeping' it only ended up with 'eat something'... but she still took me to the hotel :D
It should be a nice Argentinian steakhouse and that it was..
From dry age to ribs and burgers, it had everything.. I treated myself to a nice New York strip steak and Muriel - 3 times crispy red ??? - frieeeees...
It was really, really great, and we were satisfied and ready for bed..
Fun Fact: I believe that someone here in Calgary owns an umbrella - Why did I come up with that idea? In Calgary, there are so-called 'Sky Walks' - This means that practically every skyscraper is connected by a 'bridge'..
So you could technically walk through the whole city without ever going outside for fresh air - With a little planning, you can navigate :D A really fun idea..
If you walk a lot, you also get hungry - More walking means more eating - just as I like because Calgary has a lot to offer culinary-wise.. So we ended up in a food hall where you could find a bit from every country - From tacos, Korean fried chicken to Tschingge fries, there was everything.. I treated myself to Korean fried chicken.. you only live once in Koooo ahem Canada..
Just a few impressions from our 15,000 steps through Calgary on a sunny autumn day - so beautiful..
Beautiful forest landscapes
After a break at the hotel, we have
