After a very delicious (and even healthy ^^) breakfast, we set off back to Gulf Harbour today. The quite long route went almost completely along the west coast, which gave us beautiful views of the sea from time to time. We made a longer stop at the Kauri forest, where we could see the largest Kauri tree in the world (2000 years old!!) and also did some small hikes there. Incredibly beautiful and wild rain mix forest with wooden plank trails, so as not to damage the roots. To preserve these rare trees, you also have to disinfect and clean your shoes every time. New Zealanders value their nature very much and you can see it everywhere.
In Gulf Harbour, we had very delicious burgers for dinner and then I had to pack up all my stuff for the bus trip starting tomorrow. From then on, we will continue to the south and hopefully it will be a bit cooler :)
There are still a few photos from yesterday that I couldn't upload. Unfortunately, all of them are from my phone only :/
