Koh Phangan

Diterbitake: 14.11.2019

Hello,
upon arriving in Koh Phangan, we were greeted with sunshine and a deep blue sea. Once again, we had booked our accommodation at the other end of the island. We took the scooter on well-built but steep roads directly there. However, it turned out that we made the right choice with the beach bungalows and the associated pool at Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach. Since the weather was incredible, we decided to spend the rest of the day at the beach and in the pool. The next day, we started early on an exploration tour, where we passed several waterfalls. Since we were out so early, we didn't even have to pay an entrance fee :P After a refreshing swim in one of the waterfalls, we actually wanted to go to the other side of the island. However, since threatening rain clouds were waiting there, and we had the best weather on our side, we decided to visit our neighboring beach, Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi. There, after a second coffee, we rented snorkeling equipment and got the tip to go to Bottle Beach. Normally, the beach can only be reached by boat, but we found a way with the scooter to a narrow path that led down to the beach, passing a beautiful but also dangerous view point. When we arrived there, it was unfortunately not possible to snorkel, as the water was too turbulent. But we enjoyed the very beautiful and almost empty beach. After the exhausting way back up, we enjoyed a cool beer in the evening, which we could enjoy by the pool. Yesterday, we set off early again to finally explore the other side. Our first stop was at Secret Beach, where there were almost no people early in the morning. We were able to snorkel excellently in the crystal-clear water and saw some colorful fish. However, when we left, there were already a lot of people, which somewhat diminished the magic of the beach... We continued with a beach hopping, stopping at almost every beach. At Mae Haad Beach, we were able to snorkel again, this time with many corals as well. Only the jellyfish were slightly annoying, although they didn't sting, there were so many that it was somewhat uncomfortable. Since we had already visited almost all the beaches on the island, we decided to return to our accommodation and enjoy the afternoon there. This morning, we also enjoyed the great atmosphere and the sun on our beach and are now on our way to our next destination, the island of Koh Tao.
See you later,
Malia
