The idea of going to Rosario had several reasons: it is centrally located already at the height of Montevideo, is supposed to be quite nice and also has a train connection to Buenos Aires. Okay, an overnight bus ride is exhausting and you're not really well-rested - your back hurts - you want a decent coffee and a shower and after all that, drizzle and 10 °C. With this feeling, I stood at the bus station in Rosario at 8 am. To check into a hotel - too early. No stress, I'll just take a taxi to the southern better train station. The taxi driver was talkative - he also wanted to talk about German politics and life in Germany. After arriving at the train station and giving a good tip, I realized that train stations in Argentina can be different - simply closed - door closed. The train station only opens again in 7 hours - no, I'll skip the taxi and say goodbye. My 2nd mistake on this shitty day. If a bus terminal says de Omnibus - it doesn't have to mean that it really goes there. The friendly bus driver waves me off when I want to give him the 100 peso bill and tells me to just get on - who would argue with that. But after the area seems strange to me, I ask - no no, go back. The bus screeches to a halt and I get off. 10 minutes later, the same bus with the same driver comes back in the opposite direction - that's what the driver thinks and I think so too - he just says that it's still pretty far - I stay patiently seated - while the bus gets more and more crowded - after what feels like an hour - actually the bus station - everyone always talks about the Colectivo - shared taxi - no, damn it, I want to go to the regular train station - And at 2 pm, I'm heading towards Buenos Aires - because there are no other buses directly to Uruguay today - how confusing. Buenos Aires welcomes me with friendly mild weather and everything works out - quickly booked a hotel - taxi without any issues and then a fantastic dinner with a steak - the finest! I am reconciled with Argentina - not so bad after all!
