After 10 years of work, I had my last day on the job. It was a very special feeling to hand in all my keys and say goodbye to my colleagues. But I have decided to embark on a new adventure.
This adventure takes me far away from Zurich and far away from the lab. I am training to become a Divemaster in Costa Rica. I am following my inner drive to explore the world and try new things. I will be spending the next 6 months in Costa Rica and becoming a Divemaster from a hobbyist diver.
Before every adventure begins, the same questions always arise. What do I do with my apartment? What do I pack? What vaccinations do I need? etc.
From my last trip, I already had a head start on most of these questions. However, the most difficult question still needs to be answered. What do I do with my apartment? Since I would like to keep my apartment, that meant I had to search for a subtenant. But fate gave me a great help, as I met a Swiss woman on my Costa Rica trip this year who was looking for a place to stay in Zurich. Sometimes you also need a little luck. We met in Switzerland and shortly afterwards she moved in with me. We lived together in a shared apartment for the last month, and she will be staying in my apartment for the next 6 months. So, the most difficult question was resolved.
Packing was relatively quick, since I will be staying in the same place for 6 months, it's relatively easy to estimate what I need. Especially because it will be summer in Costa Rica for the next 6 months.
Mainly, I packed swim trunks, t-shirts, and flip flops.
Before my adventure begins, a good friend of mine got married. So, I scheduled my departure for a date after the wedding, to be able to be there on that day.
