Rainforest and crocodiles

Done - checked in for the final domestic flight to Sydney! It was a bit of magic to stick to the allowed 23kg after rummaging through almost every available souvenir shop in Cairns for three evenings, looking for nice things for our loved ones at home. In some stores, we were greeted with 'Hi Sabin and Sven' so often 🤣. 

We really liked Cairns with its sub-tropical climate, endless shopping opportunities, location by the sea, and rainforest. The absolute highlight was, of course, the 2 nights on the boat at the reef. But our trip to the Daintree River to see the crocodiles and explore the rainforest was also very nice. Unfortunately, we could only see the eyes of the huge saltwater crocodiles a couple of times, but we saw many birds, flying foxes, and mangroves. On a rainforest walk, we were able to stroll through the vegetation at various heights until we reached a tower at the top, 23m above ground, where we had a magnificent view over the forest.

Now we are looking forward to Sydney!
