8 o'clock, we meet with the rest of our group for breakfast. Our guide informs us about the daily plan and says goodbye to us. For the rest of the day, we are thrown together with another group. With the new group and guide, we embark on a three-hour hike through the jungle. We encounter various animals and insects, and our guide explains their lifestyles and why they are such incredible masters of camouflage. Impressed by the diverse flora and fauna of the jungle and yet somewhat exhausted, we reach the river again, where a canoe awaits us. This time without a motor. We paddle calmly back to our lodge. We have lunch together and rest for a few hours. Later in the day, we go back to the middle of the river with our new group and admire the evening spectacle of nature. Some jump into the water, others simply enjoy the moment until we return. But that's not all for today. After dinner, our guide wants to show us snakes. Since they are best found at night in the bushes along the riverbank, we set off in the canoe armed with flashlights. It takes a bit until we find the first one, but we are in for the full experience. We drive the tip of the canoe into the bushes, I sit in the front row and suddenly have a beautiful orange boa just a few centimeters in front of my face. It's not particularly large, but it's absolutely sufficient for a first experience with wild snakes. She is not particularly pleased with our presence and the attention we give her. We take our obligatory photos and continue. We are hooked. The next snake our guide finds in the branches of a tree is a bit bigger. She also doesn't seem to be particularly thrilled about the sudden illumination and attention. We admire the beautiful specimen for a few minutes and continue. We search and search, but we find nothing else. The day was long and full of incredible moments. We fall into bed exhausted.
