For current events, I just have to write a post about the cruise ships here. September and October are the busiest months of the cruise season in Halifax. This week, ships are docking in the city every day, and sometimes more than one ship per day. Just today, we had four ships visiting at the same time, including the 'Anthem of the Seas'. In total, there were over 8000 passengers. Although, actually there were five, since a ship bound for Bermuda has been stuck here for two days due to the hurricane off the US East Coast. With this ship, there were over 10,000 passengers today. The AIDAluna also docked here today. Unfortunately, with one less passenger on board than when the ship departed from Hamburg :(
I was able to photograph three of the ships, the other two must have docked further back in the container port and were therefore not visible. Of course, I have seen large ships many times before (can't avoid it when growing up on the coast ;) ), but it is always impressive to stand in front of ships of this size.
