On the trail of Pont du Gard ...

発行済み: 17.10.2021

... And the strawberry trees. :)

In the morning, I wonder why I came to this place. There is bustling traffic in the center and I am fruitlessly looking for a toilet, because unfortunately there was no opportunity at my parking spot. I'm going to a bakery to get a coffee first. And a Panini 3 Fromages + 1 chocolate croissant. (probably an emotional purchase decision :-)). When I see a public toilet next to the playground, it's my first highlight of the day. 🙂

I continue my discovery tour by bike and ride to the sight, the Pont du Gard, an arch bridge from Roman times.

On the other side of the river there is a forest where you can discover more Roman aqueducts. All very interesting, but what interests me even more are once again the many plants and trees.

Besides rosemary, the bright strawberry tree captivates me, which sweetens my bike ride back to my camper. I will make two jars of jam from my harvest later. Okay, I have to admit, even though the berries are edible, there are sexier fruits ... 😄

Swimming in the river is particularly fun here, because the water is almost warm and it's t-shirt weather 🙂

In the early evening, I continue to Arles, the first larger city I visit on my trip. Here I treat myself to a dinner for one in an Indian restaurant. ❤️

I'm just sitting in my bed writing this post. When it comes to van life, I'm getting more and more into a routine. And always new insights. For example, that I can also pull out the bed when the bike is in it. At least 80%. Especially for my parking space in the city today, a big advantage.
