Semesterferien 🏫🧑🏼‍🏫/ semester break 🏫🧑🏼‍🏫

発行済み: 10.02.2023

Hey! 🙌🏻😄

It's that time again! As promised, a new life update from my side. 😉

As already described in the last blog entry, my January was a very full month. But don't worry: I've got all the exams behind me now. 😊💪🏻

For the course 'Journalistic Basics' I had to write a magazine report, for which I met with the diaconia to gather information about a case. In this case, the topic was 'homelessness in the city of Ansbach.' Researching in the field is really fun. I love my job because I can get a taste of every area. 🧐

For audio journalism, I did a contribution on the topic of 'Sexual harassment in the workplace towards women.' Also for that I did a meeting with an association who I interviewed about the consequences and effects.

In the course 'Research and Source Evaluation' I had a 90-minute exam. Let's see what comes out of that. 😂 I was allowed to answer many questions about proper research and the trustworthiness of sources.

In video journalism, I had portrayed a DJ in Würzburg with two others from the course. The video was allowed to have a total length of 2:30 minutes. It wasn't easy to sort and cut according to importance. But it all worked out well and the result is very satisfying. At the end of January we watched all the films at the university. That was really interesting! 🙃

Last but not least: In digital journalism, we should find a niche idea in society that could make money later on. The idea must be economically viable and have some benefit.

As some of you probably know, I decided to do a solo travel guide/website. Those who know me probably don't wonder why I do something for traveling. Let me put it this way: If I can't travel much at the moment due to my studies, then I want to make it easier for others to plan a solo travel. At this point, a huge thank you to those of you who took the time to do my survey. You guys have sort of helped me show the importance of my niche idea. 🤗🙏🏻

Many would like to see a simple and clear page, where the individual steps can be seen, when it comes to traveling alone. And who knows, maybe soon I'll make little explainer videos about solo travel on the web. 😄 In any case, I was able to utilize many of the answers. 👍🏻 My semester thesis is about 22 pages. Whether I can convince the professor with it, remains to be seen. 😉

But that should be it for this already. Now I put everything that has to do with the study aside until 14.03., when it then starts in the 2nd semester. It goes by so incredibly fast. Before I know it, I'll be at the beginning of the 3rd semester by the end of this year. 😳

I'm going to get around to things I've always put off. This includes baking or cooking interesting recipes.

I was also able to help a girl from my shared apartment who also studies at the university in Ansbach. For one of her student projects for her course 'Design and Effect of Media,' she had to make a series of five pictures that told a story. She needed a model to participate. She asked me if I could help her out. Well, can you spot a story in all those black and white pictures? 🙂 What do you think it's about? I'll let you guys puzzle it out a bit. If you know, then it was probably logical enough. 😉

Also, Angelina and I took a trip to Ikea. I had to get a few more things for my room. When it's all done and hanging on the wall, I'll show you guys. 😁

Remember when I met the American soldier at my old job? Angelina and I had shown him the Nuremberg Christkindl Christmas Market. Now he showed us the American base in Ansbach. I wanted to see it. Since I knew that one does not come there so simply inside, if one does not knowing anybody, so I asked whether that could go. Of course it was no problem. 👌🏻

When we were there, we first went to see the shopping center. They have their own stores and fast food restaurants there. One looked familiar: The logo of Taco Bell. Unfortunately, though, this restaurant was closed. Otherwise, Angelina and I would have eaten something there for sure. We shopped for some American snacks and then went to see the airfield in Katterbach. The base is set up like a small town in itself. There is a gym, a gas station, a bowling alley and much more. I also took the chance to slip into one of the military jackets. I just wanted to see how I looked in it. What do you think? Should I drop out of college and join the American Army or German 'Bundeswehr'? 😂🤣

Speaking of American: I plan to visit some German people I met in America during my vacations. Now I do have time to do this. 😃

Last Tuesday we had dinner together with the shared apartment and our landlords at the pizza place that is just around the corner from us. That was nice to have everyone together for once. 😊

Two young women from our shared apartment are moving out for a year and have now found two subtenants, because they are trainee teachers and are coming to another school. Once a new trainee teacher comes for half a year and another trainee teacher, also for half a year.

The roommate next to me is moving out completely. She wants to move to the center of Ansbach to be closer to the university. It is not yet clear who will move in next to me. We already have a few interested parties: a dual student and a somewhat older woman. There will be a few more viewings today and in the next few days. In this shared apartment it goes in and out. 😂

Next weekend my brother and sister-in-law are coming down to visit. They haven't seen where and how I live yet. I will then also show them our pizza place.  After that, the rest of my stuff will go on the wall. ☺️In the evening we will go on to Selb. It goes again to my aunt and my grandparents. But only for one night. My grandma has birthday and we wanted to celebrate with her. 🎉

My homebound friends watch out: On the weekend I will come home to the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen for a week. Who wants to do something, can just text me. 📲 So the exact period is from 22.02. to 01.03.

What I will then also do is to visit my old neighbor when I lived in Bad Salzuflen. That's just ages ago and since we had contact again, we want to meet and exchange a little. 💬 There are probably one or the other memories awakened. 😄

So, that's it for this blog post. I'll be doing at least one post every month. I don't like to commit to an exact date. Just check in from time to time. Otherwise, I'll also sometimes remind you on Instagram & Co. when there are new updates. 🤭

See ya soon. 🤪
