Beach :D!!! and me(e)(h)r characters, because the title otherwise does not count...

Hello, now I have found the time and ... uh desire to write another post. A lot has happened, so sorry if it gets a bit confusing :)

About the school week itself, there is not much to tell except that we are now giving real violin lessons. In small groups with a few children, but I suspect that the children learn a lot more from the other teacher, not only because he speaks Spanish, but also because he is a very good violinist who has played with major Philharmonic orchestras.

On Sunday we went to the beach with him, two of his brothers, a friend, Dominik, and Robertico. We were warned beforehand that the sea was still rough after the storm, but it was only slightly wavier than usual. This time we stayed in the water so long that our hands could have been used as sandpaper.

On the way back, we had to wait quite a long time for the bus. However, we had a boombox with us and had a little dance party on the side of the road. Especially with German classics like 'Go get some beer' or the 'Chicken Dance' and of course, Macarena could not be missing!

On the bus, we thought all the time that someone would be bothered, but instead everyone on the bus joined in.

Yesterday, I went on a trip to Punta Cana to pick up my wonderful sister from the airport. The trip there was quite easy, especially since I was taken to the bus by one of my roommates and the housemother.

In the bus, I was lucky enough to sit right at the front on the second floor and could watch the whole journey well out the window.

At the airport, I had to wait for quite a while, even though the plane landed an hour earlier than scheduled. From the airport, we wanted to take a taxi since the hotel service would have cost 30€. However, the taxi driver wanted to charge almost 34€. Since I already know the prices a bit, I refused to pay that. Instead, I offered them 20€ and after he realized that I wouldn't give in, he agreed. Another girl wanted to join us, but the taxi driver directed her to another taxi because he claimed her destination was 10 minutes away from ours. It was only about 2 minutes, but unfortunately, we couldn't estimate that. In the end, I negotiated that she paid about 10€ and we paid 20€. I think in the end, we still paid way too much, but at least we were 10€ cheaper than we would have been with the pickup service.

The taxi driver was apparently new to the business and had to ask a lot of questions and drive back and forth to find our accommodations, but he was otherwise very nice.

The hotel is nice, although not 100% clean, but it may also be that I am just a bit picky when it comes to that. We pay about 50€ per night for two people, with a bathroom and a small kitchenette. Breakfast is also included, although the two toasts per person are not quite enough :D

The beach is about a 4-minute walk away and really beautiful :D but see for yourself:
