Heading north

On the way to Bergen

Meanwhile, it's already my third day in Norway and I'm heading north towards Bergen. I don't want to go with the crowd, so I decide to take the scenic route RV13....anyone can take the highway. Here's a little something about the condition of Norwegian roads: The Rogaland province is a mix of the Black Forest, the Tyrolean Alps, the Scottish Highlands, and the K'Furt Lake. Correspondingly, the width of the roads is similar to the local blood alcohol limit...almost zero. If you haven't come to Norway fully comprehensive insured, you should strongly refrain from reaching the speed limits indicated on the roadside and allow for significantly more time than the continental European navigation system suggests. But apart from that, the landscape is extremely worth seeing, if you have time to look at it between two evasive maneuvers. Passing fjords that must be either crossed through tunnels or by ferry (the indigenous population doesn't seem to care much for bridge construction), you go back down to the next fjords, partly still covered in snow, up in the mountains. Here, it feels like every resident has at least one fjord, one mountain, and one ferry.

But as all roads lead to Bergen in the end, a small campsite in the surrounding area invites you to a hot shower and a after-work beer.
