29.04.2019 The May holidays were approaching. Since in China, just like in Germany, work is only partially done on 'Labor Day' and two additional days off were created on Thursday and Friday, it was once again an opportunity to travel for a few days. We traveled with our German neighbors (the ones who live next to us in Germany 😉) from Shanghai. The son and daughter of the other party are roughly the same age as our rascals and already know each other from Heidenheim. Destination this time: The province of Yunnan and the rice terraces of Honghe.First stop: After spending the night in Kunming, the provincial capital, we drove south in a rented Sprinter with a driver and stopped at the 'Stone Forest' 石林 (Shílín) [/uploads/f0faa110-ea6e-11e9-a467-fd739b31bc0f.jpg_large.jpg] [/uploads/05a76770-ea6e-11e9-98cb-839ff43694ab.jpg_large.jpg] The area, which has been developed into a tourist park, consists of karst rock and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As is typical of China now, you take a 5-minute bus ride from the entrance to the actual attraction.[/uploads/25663c30-ea6e-11e9-a467-fd739b31bc0f.jpg_large.jpg] [/uploads/458e8120-ea6e-11e9-a467-fd739b31bc0f.jpg_large.jpg] [/uploads/62fa1710-ea6e-11e9-a467-fd739b31bc0f.jpg_large.jpg] Folklore groups of the local 'Yi' people demonstrate traditional music and dances.
