August 13th (Sunday)
After a less than restful night (thanks to Michel), the day greeted us with sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Traditionally for days off and holidays there was coffee in bed, the first in days. Getting up early the last two days took a toll on us.
I was allowed to go for a run on the beach before breakfast, it was beautiful again and of course there was hardly anything going on. Breakfast consisted of porridge and bread, with not only oatmeal, but also 5 different types of fruit, nuts, coconut, peanut butter and so on. Good food is also important on vacation and you will believe that immediately when you look into the camper. We have 4 bags full of groceries with us and look forward to breakfast and dinner every day. We are more of a “twice a day eater”, but the portions are also considerable.
Today we had about 180 km and a 2 hour drive ahead of us, Michel quickly fell asleep and was very relaxed the entire trip. The game changer for the car rides: I pump and give him the bottle at the beginning, and he usually falls asleep.
The next campsite was also a hit (Torby Camping)! Very large plots, extremely well maintained, new sanitary facilities and beautiful common areas. The campsite is very large, but we were alone on our section, the other mobile homes around us were empty. The beach was about 1000m away, not as deserted as the day before, but beautifully wide and surrounded by dunes. After a short walk and lunch for Michel in the dunes, Sven went for a run and we met again for dinner. Unfortunately, Michel was a bit restless in the evening, but fortunately he fell asleep very quickly and seemed satisfied.
Of course, we always ask and question whether we are giving him enough rest, showing enough consideration and whether he is doing well. But we are very sure that we can do it.
The carrier is almost our most important gadget and Michel loves to be carried (almost always).
He enjoys bathing or showering almost as much. That was also on the program for the day and so we had all done what we were supposed to do.
