Three weeks have passed since I left. Time flies and yet all the memories are as present as if it all happened yesterday.

Sleeping in the dorm was good. 🤣

I was awake at 7:30 because of course everyone else was getting ready and packing their backpacks. But I stayed in bed and dozed a little. When I got up, I used the time to do my laundry. While I was doing that, I had breakfast with Anton. When we walked into the old town, we met up with Ryan (he must have set off very early and already arrived in Leon) and Adva (who hadn't flown to South America yet and came to Leon by bus this morning). We then went to the cathedral together and looked around. In the cathedral, Anton and I stuck stickers that we had from dinner yesterday onto Ryan's backpack without him noticing. That was pretty funny. After a little walk around the city and eating churros together, I said goodbye. Ryan is taking a 2-day break. Anton is taking another day off and Adva is flying to South America. I'm sure I'll see Ryan and Anton again in a few days. Saying goodbye to Adva, with whom I have had many, many conversations and who has really grown on me, is harder. And because I know that you read this every day:
Heads up! Enjoy your time in South America. And as I told you before, I won't say goodbye to you. I say: see you soon back in Israel or Germany! Take care.
And so I set off at around 1:30 p.m. The first part was quite exciting because it went through the old town and there were a few sights along the way. On a Saturday in a very busy city center, it was very challenging for me to find the yellow arrows that show me the way. Sometimes they were very small or barely recognizable and because of the many people they were often simply not visible. But somehow I managed to get out of it and when I crossed a bridge the crowd thinned out considerably. It took almost an hour and a half along the city districts until I came out of the industrial area and reached a suburb. I ate something there before continuing along the country road. I actually wanted to spend the night in Valverde de la Virgen. But when I got there I somehow didn't feel like I had arrived yet. My legs are very heavy after yesterday, but I decide to keep going. Further along the country road, without anything particularly worth mentioning. I was going very, very slowly. Yesterday after 2pm and today on the entire route, I didn't see a single pilgrim. It's good not to have so many people on the way for once. To have time for myself. At 6.30pm I reach the hostel of the municipality of Villadangos del Paramo. Unfortunately there is no dinner. In the hope of being able to eat something, however, I quickly put down my backpack and go to the only bar or restaurant open in town. The kitchen doesn't open until 8pm, so I've been sitting here for over an hour, hoping to get something to eat soon. Tomorrow I want to walk to Astorga. I'll get up early. Breakfast will be served from 6.30am. There will be heavy thunderstorms with heavy rain from midday. So I want to try to get as far as possible by then.
