After yesterday's arduous travel day with an early departure and a 3.5-hour flight to Cairns, we have finally settled into our camper and driven the 70 km to Port Douglas. The camper has everything like TV, air conditioning, mini bathroom, mini kitchen with a microwave, and an outdoor barbecue.
Here we have now taken up our 1st accommodation at the BIG 4 Glengarry Holiday Park camping ground. When we checked in, we were immediately informed not to swim in certain areas because of crocodiles. We both smiled, which the lady was not very pleased about....after the phrase I'M NOT KIDDING...we became aware of the seriousness. 😨
Today we chilled by the pool, sorted and stored everything, we just have too many things with us 😅, and doing laundry was also on the agenda. Anna had to arrive and get used to the camper first. To be more precise, she has already taken the whole camper apart. We have also already been faced with smaller challenges, such as converting the bed so that Anna doesn't fall out while sleeping. We are slowly getting used to the limited space. Most of the time we are outside. The weather is just right for the evening barbecue, not too hot and not too cold. The entire facility is very beautiful and very clean. There are even proper bathrooms for everyone, as you know them from your own apartment 😊 (that was my biggest concern 😁). We already have pets (birds) that visit us regularly, Anna is delighted. That's because of the many crumbs she leaves behind 😆 She is always busy exploring.
We will stay here until Sunday and explore the surroundings. Tomorrow we will venture into the wilderness...🐨🐒🐜
