6th Day Watt Pho

発行済み: 07.09.2017

Yesterday I didn't write anything. When I woke up yesterday, I didn't feel well at all. I thought I was getting sick. Since it was constantly thundering outside, I decided to spend a 'day off' in the hotel. That's what I did and apart from swimming in the pool between the thunderstorms and going shopping briefly in the evening, I didn't do anything...

But today I feel much better. I think I was just exhausted from the air and all the stress of the past few days. After it thundered all night and all morning, I decided to go to Watt Pho (a huge temple) today.

I took a taxi there. You have to be really careful with the taxi drivers here not to get ripped off. So I got into 2 taxis, but immediately got out again. The first taxi driver offered me 400 (around €10) Baht for a taxi ride of 5 km. I didn't even negotiate with this person and got out immediately.. (Normally such a ride costs about 60 Baht). The second taxi driver said there was sooo much traffic, and he needed 250 Baht for this long ride, when I told him to turn on the taximeter, he refused, and I got out again...

The third taxi driver immediately turned on the taximeter, and I paid 60 Baht at the end of the ride (+ tip).

Watt Pho is a huge temple area where I got lost... If you want to know more about Watt Pho, you can google it on the internet.

It's really fascinating. I'm uploading some pictures of it...

On the way back, I took the boat again and treated myself to some street food (delicious fries and 'eatsausage') and then jumped into the pool completely overheated. It's almost 5:30 now, and I'm lying on my hotel bed, freshly showered, and writing... Later I'll buy some Singha (you can't buy alcohol in the supermarket before 5 o'clock) and have a snack... That's it for today.. Tomorrow is the last day in Bangkok. On Saturday we're going to Koh Samui..
