Bike tour Day 26

Today was a rest day. Well, actually a small rest day, because I only rode 40 km on the route. The rest I rode in my overnight city Nevers. The route today again followed the "Canal Laterial a la Loire" entirely.

I met the first and only cyclists (4 individuals, including myself) at the beginning of the day at LIDL. Like me, the others had stocked up on some basic groceries for the day. I rode a bit together with one of them. An elderly man from Switzerland who is traveling by bike with a tent all summer. Usually also with his wife, but she had broken her leg.

Otherwise, the route was empty. There were only two houseboats on the canal. I haven't mentioned a category of canal and river "users" yet, even though they seem to be around in any weather, at any time of day: the ANGLERS. In fact, I see several of them every day.

Since today was a "rest day", I had a "proper" lunch in a restaurant and not just a Döner or a baguette.

The hotel also seems to be very popular with cats.
