We started towards Rio Gallegos today at half past nine. Ushuaia is located in Argentina and so is Rio Gallegos. Due to the complicated border arrangements, we had to enter Chile once and then return to Argentina. I now have 3 entry and exit stamps from Chile, 3 entry stamps from Argentina, and 2 exit stamps from Argentina. There will be 1 more exit stamp from Argentina when we leave for Paraguay. That makes a total of 12 stamps from 2 countries. Absolutely ridiculous, I really appreciate the open borders in Europe. Before reaching Rio Gallegos, we had to cross the Strait of Magellan again. Along the way, we saw flamingos in two small salt lakes. After the last passport control, when entering Argentina, we were picked up by a colleague from Interpol. And what a surprise, he had my wheel that had arrived by now. Now we just need to mount it on Friday.
