The night in the tent at zero degrees was really cold. I wore everything I had with me so that I could sleep reasonably well. The tent was actually frozen in the morning. Luckily it got warmer quickly with the sun, but the cold wind remained throughout the day. There was no café to warm up in on the way and I didn't like the town of Montceau-les-Mine at all, so I just cycled all day. On the way I passed many castles, most of which had a huge park/forest and some of which could be visited. After almost 90 km I was rewarded with a nice warm hotel room in the beautiful little town of Paray-le-Monial, where there is a huge cathedral.
When it rains heavily or my body gets a bit tired from cycling, I often do yoga under a dry bridge or on the side of the road. Every now and then someone comes by and smiles, but no one has joined me yet.
At times I was in a bad mood because it is so exhausting to plan the day's route with affordable accommodation, while also taking the weather and my well-being into account. The research takes up so much time that I would much rather use to relax. It's time for it to get warm enough to camp and for me to be more flexible!
