To Zurich, it's a beautiful ride on small roads in the hinterland and along Lake Zurich.
In Zurich, there is quite a bit of confusion, the way to Basel is only signposted via the highway. It takes us forever to find a bike-friendly route out of the city.
Unfortunately, at this time there is no highway between Zurich and Basel, and we have to continue on the extremely busy country road.
The first night in the tent is very uncomfortable on a narrow green strip between the country road and the parking lot.
All night long, trucks thunder past the tent.
From Basel, it gets much better. The rough direction is given by National Street No.19. It leads from the border directly to a brass plate at the entrance of Notre Dame in Paris. This metal plate is the zero point, from here all road kilometers in France are measured.
So every milestone on the way is a countdown to the destination.
For France, we immediately buy great Michelin road maps in the first supermarket. They are simply perfect for cyclists.
So from now on, we can also find and ride beautiful side roads.
Over the next 8 days, we travel through wonderful wide landscapes with very friendly people and all in the best weather.
On the tenth day of our journey, we reach Paris.
