In the morning we had free time so everybody got up pretty late. After a quick lunch we made our way to the house in the city center again were we had the village against corporation debate last time.
This time however we learned about the early days of photography and how it came to life. We also had a chemistry student with us that showed us the process of mixing the chemicals to expose the film roll.
It was quite interesting but took a very long time. I would not have the patience for it.
We then went to a protest / concert about whaling. In Iceland it is still legal to hunt whales which is a bit unbelievable. So there was a large event organized to raise awarness.
They had whale bones layed out and a red carpet where you could sign your name on. There I also saw a guy wearing a really cool looking wooden mask so I asked him if he was part of the event.
But he was actually a freelance musician called Modomoro. He seemed really nice so we talked for a bit. I will definitly check out his music.
Björk was also there to do a simple performance. Apparently she is a world famous singer from iceland, however I had never heard of her.
And the music she played also really wasn't my style.
We then returned to have some dinner and played a few games before going to the library bar again.
Half of us went home afterwards but the other half went to a techno party that was taking place near the city center.
Since the legal drinking age in Iceland is 20, Ben and Felix are 19 and technically not allowed to enter but they still wanted to go.
I gave them my ID card even though I look nothing like them and wished them the best of luck.
I hope they don't lose it.
Tomorrow me and felix stay here since we already went on the excursion. But it doesn't look like we will be able to go whale watching.
