Long time, no see 🙈
I apologize for not contacting you for a while. In case you were worried: No, I was not kidnapped - No, I was not shot by Mexican drug gangs. 💪
On the 23rd, we went to a nice restaurant called 'The Nada' - a play on words with 'De Nada'. The food was delicious, the drinks were good, the only thing I can't understand here is: you are not allowed to smoke in most courtyards. Many of the courtyards are 'covered' with sails or similar, maybe that has something to do with it. The Mexicans are more German than we are. 😂
Now to Christmas Eve, how could you start it best? Of course, with a workout! Those who know me know how much I love to train öhöhö. After not seeing the inside of a gym for several months now, and stuffing myself with food here, I thought it was a good idea. Even the boxing training is really fun! 😱
At lunchtime, I got one of my presents - an Axolotl tattoo. The name Axolotl comes from the Aztec language 'Nahuatl' and is derived from atl (water) and Xolotl (an Aztec god) and means "water monster". Axolotls have the ability to reproduce limbs, organs, and even parts of the brain and heart, making them incredibly interesting for research. 😍
Since the procedure took longer than expected, we had to panic shop afterwards. That means buying drinks etc. within 50 minutes, showering, and appearing at the table fully dressed. It actually worked out almost perfectly. However, since Mexicans generally come at least an hour late to such family gatherings, we could have taken more time in the end. 🤦♂️
In the evening, the maternal family came over (about 25 people) and there was roast pork, mashed potatoes, and green pasta. In addition, there was spinach salad with cranberries and mango (which by the way really tastes like something). After dinner, we did a gift exchange, we had previously drawn lots to determine who gives a gift to whom. In itself, a pretty good idea, because otherwise it would be an expensive fun to bring something for every family member. Someone had brought a karaoke machine, so you could use the microphone for announcements. You could also win special gifts by answering various knowledge questions correctly. Then we rolled the dice to win lots of small gifts, such as deodorant or perfume. Tequila was also flowing abundantly. 🍻
I had a lot of fun, partly because of Habib. Probably the funniest, most intelligent, most cynical boy I know. He is in a wheelchair and cannot use his arms properly, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying life. He speaks English very well and has his own Youtube channel where he educates about how to interact with people with disabilities. More power to that. 👌
With these words, I wish you a merry Christmas first! ❤️
