Today we drove 34 km up the coast to Tofino. Here there were slightly more tourists than in Ucluelet and a main street with various shops for souvenirs, surfing and sports, art and decoration, small restaurants and cafes. We strolled through the town and visited some shops. We had an excellent lunch (roast beef sandwich, pulled burger, and tuna with rice and salad) at the Schooner restaurant.
On the way back to Ukee, we stopped at Long Beach. There were many surfers 🏄🏻♂️ here. The beach was in the fog, which gave it a mystical atmosphere.
Back in Ukee, we took a walk along the 2.6 km long Lighthouse Loop of the Wild Pacific Trail. It circles a peninsula along a rocky coast and passes through dense rainforest.
In the evening, Berni and I took another walk to the Ukee harbor. The atmosphere with the evening sun and the fog rolling in over the bay was unique.
In Howler's, a typical American burger place, we wanted to play a round of bowling with the girls. Since the lanes were already occupied, we treated ourselves to something small (salad or dessert) instead and then returned to the motorhome. The girls were still so excited that they chatted and giggled in their beds for a while... 😂
