Jill didn't feel any better today. On the contrary, it seems she caught a flu 🤒. Berni and I went alone again to Granville Island to buy milk and fresh bread. We had a discussion back at the apartment. It didn't make sense to take Jill with us. We left her reluctantly and set off with Lisa. Good thing we can always be reached via WhatsApp 😊.
We first took an Aquabus from Granville Island and passed by the Yaletown Harbor. It was impressive to see the yachts with the tall buildings in the background. Suddenly, an aerobatic team flew over our heads. Then we continued to the 'Plaza of Nations'. Just behind it, you could see the 'BC Place Stadium', where the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics took place. We got off at 'The Village', the former Olympic Village. Right next to it is the 'Science World' with a round building like the Brussels Atomium. From there, we walked to Chinatown and then to 'Gastown'. The landmark of the oldest district is a steam clock. There are also many souvenir shops and pubs. From here, you can easily reach the city center with its many shopping streets. There are even 'Underground Shopping Malls' (such as the Pacific Centre Mall) here, so you can shop in any weather. We visited Victoria's Secret for the first time on Robson Street 😝. Tired from all the walking, we took the bus back to Granville.
Jill got through the afternoon well. She had a little fever, but after a nice dinner and some TV, she felt much better. Once again, we fell into bed, exhausted.
