Fortunately, no one bothered us at night. During daylight, the side street turned out to be a thoroughfare. Therefore, we could hear passing cars early in the morning. The girls were not bothered by it. They were still able to sleep until 8 AM... 😊
In the morning, we first drove along the coastal road from Nanoose. A very beautiful area! This is where the well-to-do people live... 😊
We had breakfast in Parksville. Lisa had a whole stack of pancakes 🥞😝.
In the park nearby, we admired the incredible sand sculptures (tip from Bea, thank you very much!). It's more than just playing in the sand... 😝 Then we walked along the sea during low tide.
From Parksville, there is only one road to the west coast to Ucluelet and Tofino. Road #4 winds through forests, along lakes and rivers -> Triumph-land 😜👍!
During a stop, we felt almost like in the Verzasca Valley. Large stones in the riverbed and crystal-clear water! Before Ucluelet, we had to turn off the beautiful route and drive another 14 km on a gravel road to our campsite. The whole tableware was shaken up. The longer the drive, the more I started to doubt the campground. We were completely in the middle of nowhere 😳! The 'Secret Beach Campside' is located in a hidden bay and is very basic. A picnic table and a fire pit for each spot and two pit toilets for everyone. That's it 😳! No showers 😏, no electricity, no network. And I really wanted to recharge the camera battery. Well, I was wondering why there was no detailed description and photo gallery on the campground's website, when Berni showed it to me. Now I know why 😂! At least I was able to try out the small shower in the RV. To save water, it had to be quick. 😊
After a delicious curry for dinner and washing up, we all played a round of UNO and listened to oldies on the radio. Fortunately, the RV has solar panels on the roof. So, we can always charge our phones and tablets. 👍
Today, we took turns driving again. Unfortunately, Berni is feeling slightly better. The medication he got from the pharmacy seems to be working a bit, but it upsets his stomach. Hopefully, he will be somewhat fit for tomorrow. Whale watching is on the agenda. And on Thursday, he has booked a kayak tour for himself... We hope for the best!
Best regards from the peaceful middle of nowhere 🌲✨! 😝
