Journey continues in the rain.

Since I only had carry-on luggage, I only had clothes for four days. Washing everything by hand was quite inconvenient, I realized.

After we picked up his scooter with mine, we left Maumere. Due to the rainy season, it was very cloudy and it could rain at any time. We visited a huge statue of Maria on Mount Nino. Right next to it, there was a small shop where we took shelter when it started raining heavily.

It subsided a bit and we continued. We stopped again a little later and found refuge under a roof. Just two minutes after we started driving again, we stopped again. This time, we were even invited into a local family's house. You miss this kind of hospitality in industrialized countries.

We took a detour to Koka Beach and then drove to the town of Moni. We found affordable accommodation and had dinner. Showering was not possible, as there was no water. But I had already heard that from other travelers.
