Day 11: Seeing and marveling at Amalfi

In wise anticipation, we are planning our visit to Amalfi by booking a vacation rental in Vietri sul Mare just before the start of the epic tour. It is also a very beautiful place, especially with a very beautiful drive there, if the police hadn't closed the road shortly after Sapri.

So we find ourselves stuck with a lot of cursing Italians through the narrow streets in the hilly hinterland until we finally end up back on the coast after a laborious hour. From there, we take the expressway to Agropoli and then straight to Salerno and Vietri. Like I said: very beautiful. But as the beauty increases, the prices increase noticeably. Oh my goodness. The euros melt away like the granita in this scorching heat. But the scooter rider enjoys, keeps quiet, and pays.
