30.05. - decided to take a day off today... the city is a magnet for tourists from all over the world, there are two luxury liners in the port. We decide to explore the city on our own and meet again at the market square in the late afternoon for the return trip to the hostel.
I noticed a park behind the fortifications on my city map, I simply want to relax today and quickly find a spot... a park bench in the shade is available! I immediately mark my bench and park my bike right in front of it.
From a distance, I could see that there was something on the bench. It's a small laptop that a tourist seems to have left there.... they will be annoyed, surely there are many photos on the laptop.
I place the laptop visibly on my bike, lie down and stretch out my legs. I quickly fall into a light sleep. What a beautiful day... At some point, I wake up to see a man running around my bench and shouting: it is mine... it is mine, holding the laptop in his hand. I explain to him where I found the laptop... he thanks me warmly and has tears of joy in his eyes as he returns to the park. What a beautiful day... Making someone happy.
Just as I'm about to lie down again, a woman comes towards me in an excited manner, followed by the man with the laptop. She asks me excitedly what she can do for me, all of their travel documents and pictures from their Europe trip are on the laptop. We start talking, they are a tourist couple from Australia, they ask me what I'm doing and where I'm from. Northern Germany... Bremen? Hamburg? They know Germany, but not these two cities, although they have been to Heidelberg and Dresden. Once again, they ask me what they can do for me... I explain to them that I'm happy with them... we wish each other all the best, the two of them look at me happily once more and then wave goodbye. What a beautiful day... It feels really good. The two of them come back again, they want a photo as a souvenir... no problem... thumbs up, smile, and all three of us get in the picture, the man, the laptop, and me. And once again, we wish each other all the best and have a nice day.
I put my legs up again, once again thinking, what a beautiful day... if only the gardener with the weed whacker wasn't here.
