Sydney- das Zentrum des Kontinents/ Sydney- the centre of the continent

Nachdem ich Brisbane hinter mir gelassen habe- bin ich nun dort, wo die Mehrheit der Touristen zu finden sind- Sydney.

Eine wundereschöne Stadt direkt am Meer, mit vielen Hügeln und einer Mischung aus alter und sehr moderner Architektur. Die Mehrheit der Touristen sind eindeutig Asiaten- Chinesen und Japaner mehrheitlich wie ich mal vermute.  Das Wetter ändert sich minütlich hier- eben noch Sonnenschein und blauer Himmel, dann wieder grauer Himmel und auch mal ein kurzer Regenschauer. Die Australier sagten mir, das wichtigste Utensil hier sei der Regenschirm... fast wie in Hamburg... ;-)))

Gut, dass ich meinen Knirps eingepackt habe!

Nachdem ich gestern morgen mit dem Bus am Bahnhof angekommen bin, war der Weg zu meinem Quartier leicht zu finden. Ausgestattet mit einer Art aufladbaren Fahrkarte für die Öffis, kommt man hier gut von A nach B. Aber auch zu Fuß ist das alles relativ gut zu erreichen von meiner Behausung. In 30 Minuten bin ich in der City

Ich bin in einem der östlichen Vororte untergekommen- Double Bay: Die nächste Zugstation ist nur wenige Minuten entfernt und es sind nur 4 Stationen bis zum Hauptbahnhof.  Nachdem ich gestern meine Nachbarschaft erkundet hatte, habe ich heute  das klassische Touriprogramm absolviert- Oper, Harbour Bridge, City, Rathhaus, Darling Harbour, etc

Wunderschöne Stadt mit vielen eindrucksvollen Seiten. Meine Vermieterin ist eine Deutsche... sie heisst Stephanie, ist Mitte 30, kommt aus Hamburg und ist vor 7 Jahren hierher gezogen. .;-)

Das Zimmer ist sehr einfach, Küche und Bad wird geteilt und die Sauberkeit darf man bei Airbnb eh besser nicht so genau nehmen (das war bis jetzt überall nur so la la...), aber lässt sich gut aushalten hier.

Die nächsten Tage habe ich grob geplant, aber mal schauen, was so kommt. Freue mich auf jeden Fall Sydney und seine vielen Seiten kennenzulernen.

After I left Brisbane behind, I finally reached Sydney- the part of Australia, where the most tourists can be found- Sydney.

it is a beautiful city directly at the coast line, with lots of hills and a mixture of old and very modern architecture. The majority of the tourists are from Asia- I guess mainly Chinese and Japanese.

The weather is changing by the minute- blue skies and sunshine in one minute and a couple of minutes later grey skies and even some short rain showers. The most important thing in your bag is an umbrella as I was told by Australians... nearly like Hamburg...;-))

I arrived yesterday morning at Sydney Central Station and it was very easy to find my room. EDquipped with a rechargeble card for public transport is is very easy to get from A to B. My room is even so good located that I can go by feet in 30 minutes to the city centre.

My room is located at the Eastern Suburbs- Double Bay. The train station is only a couple of minutes by feet away and to reach Sydney Central it takes only 4 stops. Yesterday I explored a bit the closer surroundings and today I did the classic tourist programm- Opera, Harbour Bridge, City, Townhall, Darling Harbour, etc.

A wonderful city with many different sides. my host is a German girl... her name is Stepahnie, she is in the mid 30s, comes from Hamburg and moved to Sydney 7 years ago...;-)

The room is very basic, bath, toilet and kitchen has to be shared and you better don't take it too serious with cleanliness ( that was everywhere the same so far...). But it is an ideal place as a base for exploring.

I am very curious to explore the different sides of Sydney. I made some rough plans for the next days, but I will see what comes up.
