Good Morning,
After the alarm clock rang at 06:30 am, we had to check if there was a parking ticket on the windshield. Phew, there isn't one! So we can continue sleeping peacefully.
In some places, you have to look carefully to see if overnight parking is possible. Sometimes you read in the Park4Night app comments that locals park their cars at parking lots at 6 am and honk at the campers. Fortunately, we haven't had any problems with Beppo so far:)
In any case, our morning starts with a cozy breakfast. We decide to walk along the beach with a few garbage bags and pick up what doesn't belong there. Also, the sea breeze in the morning feels incredibly good.
Back at the camper, we set off to the new sleeping place, with a detour to Lonstrup. There we walk along the 50m high sand dunes. It's quite windy and sandy. The sand whips around our ears and between our teeth it starts to crunch quickly. But it is absolutely worth it for the breathtaking scenery!
On one side, the endless sea and on the other, the endless green expanse over the land.
Back at the car, we continue towards Hirtshals. On the way there, we are looking for a shower. We let the app guide us to a campsite. Unfortunately, the showers here are only for guests. Due to Covid, they say.
But the nice lady at the reception gives us a tip on where we can shower for free and with warm water. Just a few kilometers to the north. We follow the recommendation. At Kjul Strand, we find a pleasantly warm outdoor shower. It's bearable to shower even at 14 degrees Celsius outside.
For sleeping, we find a clearing in the middle of the woods where there is a large forest playground. The inner child is immediately awakened, and we have to play around first. Back with Beppo, we cook pasta with tomato sauce. And of course, lots of Parmesan!

Wide awake and well-rested, the day can begin. After breakfast, we put on our sports clothes to do a little workout at the forest playground. It feels really good because as a bus traveler, you almost always sit on your bottom. Then we grab two bikes that you can rent on-site for one euro and cycle through the forest. At the end of the forest, we find ourselves in front of a meadow where horses graze leisurely. The sound of the sea reaches us, which is why we ride our bikes straight to it. The beach that reveals itself to us after a few meters looks wide and endless at first glance. Both of us are biking along the beach for the first time. (When was the last time you did something for the first time?)
Back at the car, we pack our things and drive back to Kjul Strand. On the way, we realize that we left the pot with the pasta from the previous evening on the roof. Oops! Luckily, nothing happened. When we arrive at the beach, we change into our swimwear and, despite 8°C and whipping wind, jump into the waves.
It was COLD!
The nearby shower warms us up afterwards. To get rid of the remaining cold, we make ourselves another cup of tea :)
Warmed up, we start the journey south along the east coast to Aarhus. Aarhus is a great city, located directly by the sea. We relax at a cafe and watch the hustle and bustle. The city has an old flair combined with modern architecture. Many students are here, and we catch ourselves thinking about studying here for a few semesters and living this life.
The next sleeping place is near Hobjerg. Between forest and sea.
