Christian Heinze: "Sand, sun and fun: Excursion to Glenelg" - ADELAIDE XI

Birt: 25.10.2019

Today we met at the rotunda at 8 am to take the bus to the city of Adelaide. After a 45 minutes ride we changed onto the tram which went straight to Glenelg. You might wonder what Glenelg is - let me tell you: it’s one of the beautiful Adelaide beaches 😎 The weather was sunny and hot (up to 37 degrees) and everybody was looking forward to spend the day at the beach.

Arriving at Glenelg, we put sunscreen on very quickly and then almost everybody ran directly into the sea. The water was pretty cold and therefore very refreshing. Later on, the majority of us had a high-class beach volleyball match which was very entertaining!

After a few hours of relaxing at the beach we got hungry. So we went to the promenade and bought some tasty burritos or fish & chips for example.

Then, about noon time, we had to lay under a jetty to prevent getting a sunstroke (which was kind of weird but effective).

Moreover, we practised our dance for the farewell evening tomorrow. 👯‍♂️👯‍♀️

About 2:15 pm we started our "90 minutes way" back to school where our exchange students had already been waiting for us.

All in all, one can say that it was a very nice day with great weather.

Today we met at the school at 8 am to take the bus to Adelaide Downtown. After a 45-minute ride, we switched to the tram to Glenelg. The weather was sunny and hot (up to 35 degrees) and everyone was excited to spend the day at the beach.

When we arrived in Glenelg, we quickly applied sunscreen and almost everyone went straight into the sea. The water was quite cold and therefore very refreshing. After cooling off, a large portion of the group had a high-class volleyball match, which was very entertaining.

After a few hours of chilling at the beach, we got hungry. So we went to the nearby promenade, where we got burritos or fish & chips, for example.

Then, around noon, we had to lay under a jetty to prevent anyone from getting heatstroke. It was a bit weird, but it helped.

In addition, we rehearsed our dance for the farewell evening.

Around 2:15 pm we started our "90 minutes way" back and arrived at school 90 minutes later, where our exchange partners were already waiting for us.

In conclusion, we had a very relaxing day with great weather.
