Today we visited my hometown Geneva. The city is always impressive. As we took a walk along Lake Geneva in the morning, we could see the Jet d’Eau shooting majestically into the sky (140 meters). Of course, we also stopped at the Flower Clock. It consists of thousands of colorful flowers that change with the seasons and represents Geneva's connection to watchmaking.
Next, we headed to the Old Town of Geneva. The narrow, cobbled streets and charming little cafés exude a special charm. The St. Peter’s Cathedral is also noteworthy; it is a historic landmark of the city dating back to the 12th century. It is known for its Gothic architecture and its role in the Reformation, as the reformer John Calvin preached here.
After lunch, we strolled through Rue de la Confédération, one of the most famous shopping streets in Geneva. We then took the tram to Carouge, a charming neighborhood in Geneva.
It was a beautiful, relaxing day, and we look forward to coming back someday.
