No worries, we're fine. I'm just tired from traveling and writing. Yes, I know, some predicted it, but I promise it was just a little slump. And I will deliver. I swear ✌️even double swear ✌️✌️.
Today was another travel day. I can't even remember how many we've had. Today we're leaving the volcanoes and heading to Rotorua, to the hot springs and geysers.
Most of our travel days haven't been just driving from A to B. This one shouldn't be an exception either. We climbed one of the volcanoes, Ruapehu, yesterday (well, at least a little bit). Now we wanted to see the other two from a distance. Aren't they amazing ......
...... if the weather cooperates. We had the view.
We're just lucky. The originally planned 2-hour hike at the foot of one volcano literally fell into the water. It poured. Let's continue.
There are two more highlights on our way. Next stop, Huka Falls.
💡This is a rapid where the Waikato River goes from a width of about 100 m to a narrow gorge of 15 m. The depth of the gorge is about 10 m. On average, 220,000 liters of water flow through here in one second.
This blue, simply fantastic.
Less than 900 meters away on the other side of the road, the next stop.
Craters of the moon.
A bizarre terrain. Steam comes out of the ground everywhere. And the ground is quite hot.
💡They are part of the largest geothermal field in New Zealand, near Taupo.
After 7 hours, we reach our new home. Now just a quick shopping trip, play a round of frisbee golf, and finally grill again.
