Yesterday we crossed the Danube bridge into Bulgaria. We fearlessly overtook long lines of trucks at the border on a two-lane road with oncoming trucks. The law of the strongest applies here, or: whoever brakes loses. Not for the faint-hearted. In Bulgaria, the roads immediately became a bit more bumpy. I wonder where the toll goes??? Certainly not into road construction. Everything looks more shabby here. Our tour guide provided an explanation for this today. If you're interested, feel free to ask us, but I can tell you this much: the Germans are naturally to blame!
We took a bus trip to the fortress of Belogradchik. It was very impressive. The partially surreal sandstone formations were interesting as well. It would have been nicer with better weather. We will continue our journey tomorrow.
