Day 4 - Trip to Al Ain🐫🕌

Birt: 07.06.2017

Today we started early in the morning with our guide Abu and a nice couple (also from the east of Munich... the world is a village 😄) after a delicious breakfast heading towards Al Ain. Al Ain is known as the greenest city of the Emirate.

First stop after a 1.5-hour drive was the Al Ain Palace Museum, which used to be the residence of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan (the 'Bin' in the name of the Sheikhs means 'son of'). Since 2003, you can admire the buildings and gardens. Even his first 'state car' is standing in the courtyard: a British Land Rover 🏠🚜

Next stop: Al Ain Oasis

A shady forest of date palms, many palm trees, and a watercourse running through the oasis. A worker climbed to the top of the palm tree right in front of our eyes. Secured only by a wide rubber band. Well, I wonder what the Occupational Health and Safety would say about that 😊😊😊

Next stop: Al Jahili Fort

Across the parking lot next to the oasis is a fortress. Here we visited an exhibition by Wilfred Thesigner. An adventurer and friend of Sheikh Zayed... 😊😄 especially the rooms were air-conditioned! 😎

Next stop: 1,249 meters high

On the monolith Jebel Hafeet, we enjoyed the view of the southern oasis and Al Ain city 😊 the way there: a well-built two-lane road, a car coming towards us, 18 'Warning' signs... probably it was because of the winding course - as we then learned, built by German companies, to be precise Cologne - got it: so that you can sway better 😂

Last stop: Al Ain Camel Market

The most beautiful visit today (at 44°C) - a huge camel market where camels are offered for sale. For races and collections of the sheikhs (prices of up to 200,000 euros are not uncommon) but also for slaughter 😔

Right after our arrival, we were pampered by a merchant to take photos with his camels. Including a two-day-old baby 😙 great animals, a bit unusual in smell 🤥 but very majestic giants!

The exchange Michaela for camels was a flop - so we bought three 🐫🐫🐫😂😂😂

Then we went back to the hotel - all in all, a great day!!!!
