We still had the scooter for another day and today we wanted to do some shopping. Vera also found a few things. And of course I did too. :-)
Then back home, chill out a bit in the room and at 6:30 p.m. we met a chef to cook Thai dishes. The two of us were not the only ones though. There was another couple with us, but somehow the tourists this year are all very taciturn and strange. Most of them can hardly manage to greet or speak two sentences with others. Our Englishman was a real exception. So were the two. We did take a few photos of each other, but other than that, they just didn't want anything to do with us. Who knows. But we also believe that there is a strange story behind the two. Both spoke English to each other, but neither of them was English or American judging by their accent. He was from Poland, we found that out during dinner. She introduced herself as Paula and I think she was German and they met here. But why she didn't say she was German, no idea. The two were just weird. But the cooking was great. We went to the market together and did some shopping. That was exciting. Again, all the different smells, between fruits, herbs, meat, and fish. Not always delicious, but okay. Back at the "restaurant", we first had an appetizer. Two leaves from some tree were specially rolled and formed into a kind of funnel, and then grated coconut, nuts, onions, honey, and chili were filled into it. The whole thing was then put into the mouth and eaten at once. That was already great. After that, we made all the filled baskets of spring roll dough and fried vegetables with chicken as an appetizer. They were all held together by a string made from the fiber of spring onions. Also super delicious. Afterwards, we all had different main dishes. Vera had a green curry and a Tom Yum soup with prawns. I had wide noodles with vegetables and dark sauce, and stir-fried chicken with vegetables and cashew nuts. We couldn't eat all of it. Way too much. So we had most of it packed and that already served as dinner for the last evening. Great. Back home to the bar and play Kniffel and Mensch-ärgere-dich-nicht. Only one more day in paradise. Definitely going to the phenomenal pool again tomorrow.
