Day 19 (August 24, 2023)
Today we are at Arashi Beach at 9 a.m. sharp! We thought it would be crowded, so we wanted to get to the beach very early to grab a free umbrella. Contrary to expectations, the second car is in the parking lot. Only a couple next to us under an umbrella were out earlier.
Arashi Beach looks much nicer today than it did a few days ago. Last time there were big waves rolling onto the beach and the sun wasn't visible at all, today we can see the color turquoise on the water. Unfortunately the water is still turbulent, so we can forget about snorkeling. But I don't know where to snorkel here either. Apart from sand and a few stones in the sea, we don't see anything here. So we leave it to swimming and splashing around.
We enjoy our last beach day and stay on the beach until the evening. A surfer on an e-foil / e-surfboard puts on another evening show for us. Sometimes he stands on the board, then he sits on the board and floats over the water. Very funny to watch.
Back at the villa we jump into the pool again, then the big packing begins. We're not leaving the island tomorrow, but we're moving to the hotel, so we have to pack.
We agreed with Fred and Lia that we would leave the villa around midday. We still have time until then and can enjoy a cozy game evening by the pool this evening, which our red holiday house tiger will then crash straight away! The cheeky cat lies down directly on the table - between our playing cards - and pushes the cards off the table. Naughty thing! It will be really difficult for us to leave the cuddly tiger here tomorrow.
In the evening we watch lightning flash in the sky. But we don't hear any thunder. According to weather radar there must be a violent thunderstorm over Venezuela, we only see lightning here. Cool....
Just not another storm - we don't need that on our last days in Aruba...
