We are pretty exhausted from exploring the Krka National Park and I'm craving for the beach again 🏖. We're driving directly 36 km to Primošten, which is technically a bit further south again. We've been told that the campsite 'Adriatic' is supposed to be very nice. Here too, we can use our ACSI Camping Card.
I'm not sure if I've written about this before. It's a great thing: with this discount card, you can use many good campsites for €17 or €19 in the off-season. This price already includes the fees for a standard pitch, 2 adults, 1 dog, and electricity. So only local taxes or registration fees may be added, or surcharges for a 'premium pitch'. Sometimes we have to pay extra for our trailer as well. But overall, it's a very cheap way to travel. So far, we've only spent about €500 on accommodation costs in the past four weeks 😁.
The campsite is really nice. The pitch is so big that we don't even have to uncouple the trailer. Many pine trees provide shade, even in some areas of the beach. Squirrels 🐿 play in the branches in the afternoon, so adorable!
On Thursday, we visited the nearby town of Primošten. A cute harbor and beautiful old town streets. From the church up above, you really have a nice view. We like it!
On Saturday, we drove to Šibenik. Wait, wasn't that the city that we found so ugly on the way here? Yes, exactly 😂 But the travel guide says that the old town is very worth seeing. Maybe we'll be convinced otherwise🤔? Uhm, no! 😅 The old houses looked neglected, which was further accentuated by a permanent musty smell (sewage canal?). The exhausting climb to the fortress was not really worth it either. The restoration there has been done quite lovelessly with a lot of concrete. There's a stage on the fortress (among other things, a concert by Brian Ferry was announced). But the view was quite nice...
And the extensive shopping at Lidl (the selection at the campsite supermarket was really poor) was definitely worth the trip!
I'm starting to feel a bit homesick/boredom. Not that I necessarily want to go back home quickly now. But unlike my husband, who could spontaneously move into the motorhome permanently, I somehow miss our home. Doing nothing is really relaxing, but it also makes you tired! I've reached my 7th book now (long live Kindle unlimited!) and I'm itching to do something again. We've never had a vacation for six weeks before, that's really a long time!
We decide to leave again on Monday and make a stopover or detour to the Plitvice Lakes before heading to the island of Krk, where we have booked our last week of vacation on the 5-star campsite.
We still don't suspect that we won't be able to get to the national park on Monday...
