Today the south tempted us. From the Grand Canyon straight down to Sedona - a little more than 2 hours, easy. The landscape offered from the start -> rocky to endless needle forest, to lush leaftree forest to rock formations at the end really everything. Halfway down we stopped at Flagstaff and followed a tripadvisor tip to have a rich breakfast at Downtown Dinner where the locals like to hang around. Zoë ordered a Burger.... so much for breakfast! We liked the little town very much and wanted to stay had we not already booked the accommodation in Sedona. Beside it got quite warm and we planned a stop at a natural pool and rockslides in the Oat Creek river on our way. It was simply perfect. The river had about 19° ideally refreshing! The pool was just deep enough to allow jumps from the clif's. What a cozy place!! Zoë joined me briefly in the water, but then took a afternoon nap in the shadow. The warning sing about the snakes I showed her on our way back, otherwise it would never have been so relaxed ;-) I jumped from the clif's and entertained the tadpole's. Again such a incredible difference to what we had left in the morning. Later we checked in at the cute Motel in Sedona, (last) visit to the laundry and then off to the airport where apparently one can admire the most beautiful sunset. Equipt with a Margarita and a semi vergyn version (with Ginger beer) for Zoë we enjoyed the moment. Sedona lies in a beautiful basin fantastically embedded between rosty-read Monolith's and steep faced walls of the Lower Oak Creek Canyon. It is also the mecca of the Vortex and New Age fans. The 'emerging earth energy' indulges body and soul with remarkable effect. We shall see how we will feel tomorrow morning ;-)
