"One night in Bangkok"

... and already totally in love with this exciting city! How lucky that we have 3 more nights. We landed on time at 16:00 with Lufthansa and had a really pleasant flight! The immigration at the huge airport in Bangkok was also really quick and suddenly we were in a taxi on our way to our hotel on Khao San Road. It quickly became apparent that the rumor of Thais speaking poor English is indeed true. To get to the city center "quickly" by taxi, you have to pay an extra 50 baht twice to be able to use the highway, difficult to understand without the driver speaking English :-D

Arriving at the Chillax Heritage Hotel, we were completely thrilled, a great whirlpool in the room, nicely decorated and generally very upscale (except for the few black hairs I found on the floor, but Dennis says I shouldn't make such a fuss about it :-D). The rooftop pool with a view of the Bangkok skyline is also super.

Quickly showered and off we went into the hustle and bustle of Khao San Road at night - madness! I don't know how to describe it, thousands of smells and impressions hitting you. Everything colorful and cheerful. We then decided to have a pad thai with shrimp for dinner and a few Thai beers (which actually taste surprisingly delicious.)

Now it's off to bed to be ready for the Grand Palace and the floating markets tomorrow.
